I'm thinking of changing my antique mobile for a dual sim one that I can use "whats app" on. I don't want anything too high spec (I just don't do that) so does anyone have any idea what I should look for model wise and the best place to get one? I don't mind travelling around this area.

Have you thought about the car boot sale.. On a good day you can get them for 150 euros but no guarantee. In Granada they have nice ones but 350 euros but look good.. The other day i was in Albox with some pals of mine and there was a brammer in the bowling alley but i think it belonged to someone else Wink

Have a look on amazon.es. Search for "smartphone" "libre" "android" and stick to models with a high number of stars.

You'd want at least 1GB of RAM and probably a 4 - 5 inch screen. There are many available for sub €70.
But bear in mind that these phones are only designed for a lifetime of a couple of years. After that the plastics start to fall apart, the battery doesn't hold its charge and things start to fail.

Doogee, LG, Huawei and ZTE are some of the lesser known names that have a good reputation.

Thanks both of you for the info, Pedro, think those prices are a bit out of my range. I do know you get what you pay for but if it lasts a couple of years that's probably enough as technology will have moved on by then anyway. Smile

I have just bought a dual sim, 5.5" Doogee smartphone, via Spanish eBay for 60€ delivered. I also have the 4.5" Doogee rugged phone (as I am good at dropping phones when out!) which is brilliant and cost 75€ delivered.

Thanks again everyone, like the prices on the last two posts very much, I'll gave a good look around. I really can't have anything to technical. (already tried it once before Sad ) Another point for me is that I will need for the manuals/instructions to be very simple, a bit like they were on the old mobiles. Embarassed

Like the old mobiles, android smartphones are generally all the same.  It is sort of like changing from Windows XP to Windows 10 - different, but you get used to it.

If you want a lesson when you get your phone, or want to come and see mine (the new 5.5" turned up today and is fab!) to see what the difference is between my two different sized phones, then email me.  No problema!
