Recycling Centre Empty Recycling Centre

Post by Clarky Thu Mar 06, 2014 9:17 am

Hi.
Having now unpacked most of our removal boxes, I`m left with two trailers worth of crushed cardboard boxes!
Is there a recycling/refuse centre in the area? It may be a silly question as our neighbour said just burn it however
I would prefer to dispose of it if possible. I think I may have to much to just put it by the green bins I see dotted around maybe ?
Any advice would be welcome.
Many thanks.

Clarky

There are 'cardboard' bins in most areas, usually clustered with glass and plastic recycling, but not always. Most times bins are full so just stack it beside the bin.

You could always use a logmaker. Brown cardboard makes good logs. Rip them up into small pieces, put them in a black bucket with some water until they go mushy.  = Free firelogs

Good idea...I will need some logs in the next few days from somewhere so will look into your suggestion. I presume once mushy form them into logs/brick size and dry?
Thanks

like that idea Dave!

I've also got a question. Does anyone know where to dispose of large batteries?

Some of the bigger recycling areas take them, but if you ask your local mechanic nicely, he should take it for you.

If he won't, give it to me when you next visit and I will take it to my mechanic for you, who def will!

Youll need a log maker. Cheap to buy just google it, should be able to get one delivered cheaply

On the recycling theme - what about used printer ink cartridges? I've got quite a collection. Keep meaning to check  with the little computer shop in Huescar, but keep forgetting!
