Don't hesitate to call 112

Just to point out that if you have the need to call the emergency services , don't be put off by your lack of Spanish. If you immediately ask if they speak English they will tell you to hold , play pretty music ( yes a bit frustrating but wasn't for long ) and connect you with an English speaking person.

I hesitated as I watched a fire across the valley , one I thought maybe residents nearer would report it and 2 I had no idea how to explain in Spanish where it was exactly , not knowing the road names over there . As it spread for 10 minutes getting dangerously close to several houses. So phoned and was so relieved it was so easy . You don't get through to a person in Baza though , I think maybe Granada so it is important to explain you are in Baza or wherever .

Luckily within 5 minutes the Bomberos and put it out and no damage was caused as far as we could see, so thankfully me hesitating didn't really matter but next time I will just ring straight away.
