Bantams for sale.

Year old, lovely colours and available in breeding pairs. Bantam hens make great Mum's and will sit on a variety of eggs, as I had a population explosion at the end of last year there are plenty available to good homes.

10 € per pair and all money will go to Water Aid.

Could i have one male and three females please, but need to build a house first, be a couple of weeks

Of course you can, let me know when you're ready and then come over and choose your colours, I could then bring them over and pick some manure up at the same time (if you have any to spare), we've just bought another car with a tow hitch for the trailer which should make life a little easier.

Musketeera - sadly, don't want any bantams but am so glad to read proceeds will go to Water Aid. A brilliant cause, and one which I've supported for years. A clean water supply is fundamental, and more important even than food.

Yes I agree, I've seen the good this charity has done first hand in Northern India and their offices in Delhi are not bright & air conditioned they're a bit shabby but functional - Good to see the cash doesn't get spent on sculptures for the reception areas but goes to the people that so desperately need it.

Cave Bunny ...... was going to do it myself but it would be rustico and the size of a stable a lovley lady has beaten her man up and he has offered to do it for me, whilst his wife gives my pregnant mare some tlc............ Rosie on here, her hubby likes using big hammers lol x
Jenny & Musketeera, agree with you a brilliant cause, i used to raise alot of money for them at the Glastonbury festival, admire their policies greatly.

Musketeera, Can you give me a bit of info please as I know nothing about chickens. I have fancied keeping chickens for eggs. I have a large corral to put them in. Can you tell me:-
What do they eat?
Do they need special bedding/facilities?
Can they fly away?
How long can they be left to fend for themselves if you are away?
How many eggs do they each lay and how often?
Do they need artificial heat in the winter?

My lot only eat organic feed not because they're choosy but I don't like the thought of chemically produced eggs, I buy the feed from the agricultural place just after the Toyota garage in Baza. They also have all the veggie & bread scraps from the kitchen - They also love cooked spaghetti or rice.
They need a weather proof house with a perch and a place to lay their eggs (1 a day with a break between xmas and easter approx).
They can fly but it's more importnat that dogs or foxes can't get in to their area at night so if they're locked up in a house at night they'd be morethan happy to stroll around a corral during the day without escaping.
If you bought a feed and water hopper they could be left for the weekend (depending on hopper size and amount of birds).
They're tough little birds and as long as they have summer shade and a house to tuck themselves away in when it's cold or raining they'll be fine.
Very entertaining to have and lovely eggs.

If you are away for more than a few days I'm happy to pop over every couple of days to check on feed and water etc if imagemaker not around to do it!

Anyhooo, anything is possible. Chucks are great entertainment (& their eggs are OK as well!)

Like most of us I like chicken but couldn't eat one I had brought up! I'd eat the eggs though.

You could eat them but there's not much meat as they're only dinky wee things.

You old softey - I expect you'll also be giving them names?

My new chooks house is underway, huge big thanks to Rosies hubby, its going to be a 5* hotel, chicken style, i think the chooks will be fighting the cats n dogs as to who moves in first tho ! Anyone who wants a chicken house, Phills your man !!!!!

Thanks so much for the two Bantam hens you have just delivered to me! They are absolutely stunning and are getting on really well (so far!!!) with my other hen. The cockeral thinks it is Christmas and can't stop running up and down the ramp! Mariposa x

Will do - they are so gorgeous, they do need nice names. Rocky and Ginger have just ganged up and eaten all the food I just put out - I will have to watch that! The young one did try to eat, but Ginger flapped her away. The older one has made a nest upstairs and is just sitting there, enjoying her new home I think!??? x
