Unbelievable un-bloody-believable

I cannot believe that i mailed Sir Geoff Hurst MBE for a signed item to auction off to raise money for my marathon run and who would you believe rang me at home today, yep the man himself asking about my training and why i picked SPARKS and then at the end of our little chat he said he would send me a signed photo to auction off (100 to 300 quid on ebay), i ant believe the only man to score a hat trick in a world cup final wished me luck.
as soon as i get it i will give the forum members first chance to buy it but if not it will go onto ebay.

Well done, Mikey! It was great of him to respond so positively, but you had the balls to ask in the first place.

I have sent over 300 emails to celebs and companies, half have replied so far and only Geoff Hurst has agreed to send something, i will keep trying.

Well done mate. Try Fergie, i know when i was doing a charity venture he was very generous. Although now with the Yankee cretins in charge you will be lucky....... they wouldn't give you a cold!!!

Also mate get a pic of Amy popped onto some sponsor forms telling people a little bit about yourself and why you have chosen this charity and i will take them back and get my clients and friends to sponsor you too. Have them ready for when we pop out next and we can start getting this show on the road!! Good luck

You could use the forum as a 'Training Diary' to keep us all informed on your progress with a link each time to your sponsorship site. Have you put it on Face Book yet? Another positive thought - at least your training will be during the cooler months

Training will be put on here too, started walking each night at the moment as i have a golf ball size burn on my right calf (motorbike exhaust) next running with black bag under tshirt to sweat off a few pounds and then leading upto a run from Castril to Baza in March

Do you have running partners (I am not offering!!!!!!! but maybe there are some runners on here happy for some company)??

My cousin runs the marathon every year so if she visits she might be up for a run with you!

Hi Pebbles thanks for the offer but i am a solo runner unfortunately (apart from the actual marathon) i have my music on full blast and would not be of much company. Even in my army days i preffered running on my own than in a squad.

Oh ok, didnt want you to be lonely! I know some people train better with a running partner!
