Dave - Thanks for rescuing us from oblivion. I see that the old Forum is now in funereal black - presumably you did that, rather than Aceboard. God knows how you find the time, what with working full-time, having a family and doing up a cave . . . we do all appreciate it.

One question: is it possible to stay logged in but invisible? I did that on the old Forum, as it saved the fag of logging in every time, but can't see how to do it here.

And I do miss my avatar - Rocky the Rhode Island Red from Chicken Run. It was of personal significance: when I was teaching young felons I devised a glorious GCSE Media coursework unit based on Chicken Run - all pukkah & approved by the examining board - and had such fun teaching it. I know Rocky was flaky & phoney to start with, but he came good in the end, he made me smile, and I'm always up for a piss-take. Maybe one of our resident techies could tell me how to capture the image and use it here? Or how to capture another image?

I'm such a donut. Never noticed the multiple tabs on the profile page, or the multiple choices of avatar. (Just think, I could have been Doris Day!). But when I filled in all relevant fields on the "Information" tab, excluding the year of birth (which I never reveal online, for obvious identity-theft reasons), I got a message saying, "This forum does not accept messages from persons over the age of 99 years"!!! OK, so I'll make out I'm 23 & see how that goes.

Whaddya know - it worked. Shows how stupid computers are - they only understand 1 and 0. So now I'm 23 years old and retired - I wish!

Click on "Profile" at the top of the page, then click on "Preferences". The 5th option says "Hide online status", so you just click on "Yes". Done! (I hope.)
