Renewing spanish driving licence

My Spanish driving licence was up for renewal, I think that earlier posts on this are old.

It is now very easy.

No need for appointment. Just turn up at the policlinica in Baza with nie number and old driving licence.

Two minutes in administration.

Two minutes for the 'medical', this just involves a simple eye test, questions on medication etc.. Also a hand strength test.

Then back to admin to pay your 55 euros.

Licence arrives in 15 to 20 days.

Simples.

I was pulled over by Traffico last week, produced all my docs including my UK driving licence, all perfectly fine according to them!

Is a new photograph not required for the renewed licence?

No, by the ears.

They have a photo service if you need it at policlinica..You will need 2 photos

no need for photo , you sit in front of a webcam on the computer.

Isn't it amazing how everyone 'knows' what's supposed to happen to be in the right! Licence or no licence, Spanish or UK, photos or no photos, all correct apparently.

I,ll re-phrase this then for the perfectionists...The photos are included in the price you pay for your renewal...All part of the service at policlinica.
one photo for the records and one photo for the licence = TWO.
AND if your lucky the nice lady/man will show you the photos to see if your happy before you set off. 

It's ok Pedro, the point I was trying to make is that everyone thinks their information is correct, me included. Driving licence thread has been done to death and everyone's 'details' of what you have to do differs from the next person. It's interesting how so many people can be right. My opinion is to find out from the Spanish, not another Brit, as a lot of them can't speak much of the language (English or Spanish in some cases) and things get lost in translation or they just fill in the gaps with whatever words they do know. Wilma has gone out and done it, so that's all first hand info. Why can there be no definitive and consistent rules & regs? Only in Spain!

I know what you mean TFS, it not only changes with the wind sometimes even the Spanish have no idea. Anyway I can tell you first hand that the Policlinica info is correct as of 3 weeks ago as My friend renewed his licence there, I went with him. By the way, he has just been fined 200.00 Euros for 'lingering in the fast lane of the motorway'. 'They' are obviously getting more desperate for the revenue.

I agree in total what you have just said( Twisted fire starter]..We are lucky enough to speak reasonable Spanish and our daughter is looking to go to university so she is worth her weight in gold with language problems..From our 10yrs experience here we get the impression most Brits are very lazy( Gandul) with attempting to learn a few words here and there..We say have your English friends if you need but make a real effort to sit with your Spanish neighbours as well...Most Spanish have as much time as you want to help you with the lengua and they enjoy your company which then leads on to tapas and vino del pais.   .The more you put into it the more you will get out of it.. there is a intercambio course for Spanish / english in Huescar every wednessdat eveing for 18.00 till 20.00 . We speak spanish and they correct us in English . I've learned a lot that way .
