Good job the moors never had an army of those Dunk coz we would all have tinted eye brows seen all sorts of creepy crawleys here but not that one..did you pick it up

We had one of those here, and we watched her lay eggs on her back with the spear/tail. I took photos...I'll try and find them and load one up. Pretty cool, but i think harmless. No idea what it is though.

Have looked in my natural history book for Andalucia, and there's a pic of something quite similar - a grillo - gryllus campestris or field cricket.
When I looked on the internet the pics there didn't look the same at all!

Grillo is also Italian (probably Latin) for Cricket and I suspect the female is a slight variant on the male, hence not looking identical to the pic. But we have seen them on and off here for 3 years, scary looking but quite harmless. I think the spike is to push the eggs under the soil surface, or under human skin so it can grow and make its way to your brain, where it will slowly eat you from the inside out.
