Washing Machine Techie required

Does anyone know of a washing machine repair person please? My Zanussi (hardly used which is annoying!) has developed a problem with the door mechanism and won't work because the machine thinks the door is open!

a friend of ours uses a plank of wood from wall to door to keep it closed and it works

I'm finding that a hefty boot is working pretty well too - problem is, it closes so well that I can't get the damn thing open again and the machine still thinks the door is open and so won't operate! Any more suggestions?

I'm still waiting for a washing machine repairer. He came very quickly with the wrong parts and said he'd return "this afternoon" and I've been waiting about 2 and a half years now!! Gave up in the end and bought a new one! x
