Ouch!

Got bitten above left eye and about head about a week ago, sometime during the night, so I didn't see the culprit. However for two days whole of left side of face numb, couldn't open my eyelid. That wore off , two days later severe pain around the area, as if someone had hit me with a hammer, yes, that bad. This morning woke up, Eye completely swollen shut. Been to Doctors and had injection. I have no idea what it is that got me, symptoms are of spider bite but no puncture wound. Has anyone had anything similar? so I can identify what it might have been that has caused such a violent reaction.
