People who have cataract surgery do the lenses have to be replaced in later years

The new lenses shouldn't cloud over the years Peter as they are artificial. The damaged (real) lense is removed and replaced with artificial. A relatively simple procedure. The patient is awake for it. Sounds alarming, but isn't.
Your prescription for glasses may need slightly adjusting, but sometimes not even that needs doing. It is many years since I was involved with this sort of op, so I could be out of date!
