Art classes with John.

If there's anyone one out there that has wanted to learn to paint but never got around to it or lacked the confidence come and join us - John the Artist is holding classes in Baza and Benamaurel and they are great. He's a wonderful teacher and really encouraging, it's a chance to learn something new and meet new people and the two hour sessions just whizz by.

If you have sufficient space in your home and a bunch of friends who'd like to take the class John is more than happy to come to you, it couldn't be easier.

Many thanks for the nice comments,I am glad that everyone seems to be getting something positive from the classes.If anyone out there is interested but scared because they feel an outright beginner,then don't worry, I give a lot of individual help and the groups are very friendly and supportive. You will be pleased with what you can achieve.

Would be great to see some examples, would anybody be brave enough to post some pictures of their work and how they have progressed?

Good idea Dave, we started off with a complete picture and have since concentrated on techniques (last weeks lesson was on painting trees and this weeks is on textures - walls, roof tiles etc). In a couple of weeks we will be doing a scene of our choice (no nudes at this point in time Ken) and using the techniques we've been taught.
It's really interesting to see each others different interpretations of the same thing and John is always full of encouragement & gives an example to work from - Such is the talent of this man he can paint upside down so that we can see each stroke of the brush as it happens rather than blocking anyones view while he paints! Great fun with a feel good element at the end of the class.
