Parent toddler group
Hi I am thinking about starting a parent and baby/toddler group but I haven't really found anything yet and at 20 months my little boy isn't ready for full-time nursery.
before I dive in too deep - your feedback would be really appreciated
(1) does anyone know of anything similar going on already that anyone can just go to without any fuss/form filling or even cost.
(2) is there anyone on the forum who might be interested in coming along?
(3) does anyone have any ideas for suitable venues - I am in El Margen but happy to travel 20 mins if it the venue is right.
Open to English and Spanish obviously. 2 to 3 hours twice a week would be great.

Re: Parent toddler group
You will probably find that most Spanish have already put their children into the nursery.
Most Spanish have already asked me why Alejandro hasnt started in the Nursery yet! (he could have gone to the nursery in September - but I thought he was too young as he was only 10 months old then)!!

I am pretty sure there are two English ladies with a flourishing business in the Galera area, that is well established with a waiting list. As my youngest offspring is 30+ (yrs not months!) I have not followed their progress.
Ailis at Cien services may be able to help you with this one.
IF you do decide to set up your own group, there is a forum member that is fully trained to teach Mums, their babies & toddlers 'Baby Yoga'. She may be happy to be involved in your venture....then again she may not! She will be reading this.
Good Luck anyway with your idea.

Re: Parent toddler group
I will be setting it up with Sally with Ailis's help no doubt.
More soon. Well as soon as anything happens around here
Kate do you have an idea about timings that would suit you?
Likely to be : me El Margen, Sally Fuente-Nueva(?) on the way out to Maria and you Castillejar.
I reckon we look for somewhere in Galera. I know Sally and Ailis use a place for their English class on saturday morning. Will investigate. failing that we could go to each others houses once a week? What do you reckon?
Our outdoor space will be fully concreted by end of the weekend and I have room for us all.

Hi! I am the forum member that Rosie mentioned as being a Baby Yoga Teacher. I am also a retired Health Visitor and would be happy to be involved in some way with the group if you would like some help (or indeed some fun with Baby Yoga!)

Re: Parent toddler group
School in Spain is not compulsory until the age of 6, but children generally start school in the autumn of the year in which they turn 3
Re: Parent toddler group
How about, everyone interested can come to mine.
Maybe
Thursday 11th Nov at 11am or 4pm for a couple of hours and see how we go.
The path isn't great but I'll work something out. I have some play tents and Ed is very generous with his toys.
Let me know if you can come and I will send directions. Will be lovley to get together.

Re: Parent toddler group
Sorry folks - just realised I have missed my own play date -
- how rubbish is that!
Got back later than expected after a mammoth tour to UK.
We managed to do about 1200 miles in an old transit.
Will reschedule.

Re: Parent toddler group
I totally forgot!
Spoke to Sally the other day and she said that La Posa (pizzeria in Galera) said we can use their back room? - which would be great as Galera is inbetween us all!
Afternoons are better for me
Speak soon x

Hi Gilly - sounds good - will definately bear it in mind if we manage to get something regular going x
Re: Parent toddler group
My daughter did baby yoga and baby massage with her first child (logistics made it difficult to manage with her second), and they both had a wonderful time. What a great idea! Nothing like that was around when I had my babies - tho' we did have lots of cuddles and I stroked them to sleep most nights (collapses in a mush of nostalgia).
