Is the weather widget telling the truth? How accurate are you finding it wher you are?

Just got back from the banos bar on the lake and it was luvvly (so was the beer), you could see the rainfall over Cuevas Del Campo though and it looked heavy. So showers are the order of the day. Oh, it's just started hailing as I write.

Thing is, there seem to be lots of micro-climates here. It can be peeing down in Castillejar, bright sunshine in Los Carriones and peeing down again in Benamaurel. I used to read weather forecasts obsessively. Now I just look out of the window to see what's actually happening and go with that. We have a good 6 months when BBQs and beach outings can be planned weeks in advance, 3 months when the weather's bloody awful and hibernation's the only answer, and the rest's in between. I don't really need to know more than that.

We have had steaming sunshine, whilst our nearest neighbour about 1km down the track has pouring rain. In fact, they've had snow whilst we had nothing.

We have a good marker though - locals say if you can't see Jabalcon and it's covered in cloud, you've heavy rain on the way. It's proved accurate everytime!

Yep defo I'm amazed by the micro-climates, our favourite was last winter when we set off on a dull day towards Maria from our house and by the time we got only a couple of KMs from our house, we were caught up in a crazy snow storm and finally became snowbound, along with a few other drivers and had to be dug out by the army.

When we finally got back to our house there was no sign of this cold front. All good fun ) But come Spring, Summer and Autumn sun, sun and more sun where ever you go.
