Record Deck wanted !!

Hi Dudes ! my husband's got loads of records he would like to play, but we have no record deck !!!! anybody on the forum got one they never use ? and would like to sell it that would be good many thanks Barbara ....

I'd have thought you'd be unlikely to find one nowadays, Barbara, but you can buy USB turntables pretty cheaply. They plug into the PC and convert vinyl to MP3 files, which you can then transfer to CDs or an MP3 player. Look on the Pixmania site, or Amazon. You won't get the depth of sound that vinyl gives, but it may be better than not being able to listen to them at all.

Sorry - I should have been clearer. I know new turntables are available - my son's a DJ and spends a fortune on his decks. But I'd have thought that, except for audiophiles, turntables are likely to be among the bits of equipment discarded prior to moving to a new country and thus unlikely to be available here 2nd-hand. I got rid of a high-quality turntable prior to moving here and so, so regret it. A friend transferred my essential vinyl recordings (old ones that weren't available in digital form) to CDs before I moved, and the quality's more acceptable than I expected.
