Scavenger hunt + BBQ Saturday 13th April

We have been granted permission from Benamaurel town hall to go ahead with the scavenger hunt.

Registration forms will be available via email [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], Benamaurel town hall or Annie at the various markets - Everyone MUST register please so that we can comply with the town hall permissions.

We will start the car queue from 11am where you will receive your photo sheet & map with the places to find after you have paid the entry fee of 2 € per person. Cars will then be released at 3 minute intervals and the time for each team recorded so you will have to return to the closed off road to complete the treasure hunt and have your finishing time recorded - You'll be reminded of this on the day.

The fastest team (the Guardia will be present so no speeding - that can cost up to 1,350 € ask my other half!) with the most pieces of different coloured paper collected (to prove they found the location) will be the winner of a hamper.

The BBQ will be pulled pork rolls with apple sauce (if required), homemade steak or veggie burgers with various salads and a free soft drink or beer for 3 € per person - On the registration forms please indicate whether you would like the pork, beef or veggie option so that we don't have too much wasted food. Fingers crossed for good weather

Oh pity, we were expecting you to do the hunt on horseback which would have given you the edge there's no doubt.

No No! Honestly once you have the map the right way up we normally get to where we want to!! LOL

HELP!!!!

This morning I checked APA El Capricho's FB page and found that we have 41 people who have 'joined' the treasure hunt for this Saturday which is an additional amount to the 40 ish we already know about. Annie will be getting confirmation of this amount tomorrow evening but as it stands at the moment we are expecting a massive turn out which is fabulous news but leaves Annie & I swamped

If anyone would like to volunteer their help in serving the BBQ food that would be a huge help - Instead of starting the BBQ when everyone has finished the treasure hunt we may possibly have to do it in stages from 12 onwards to cope with the number of people but we'll wait and see.

If volunteering for helping with the food isn't your 'thing' would anyone like to be in charge of time keeping and starting the teams off?

Bloody great day, well done Annie and Matilda. Brilliantly organised and he food was spectacular. The dog shelter is very fortunate to have people like you helping raise funds. Shame some of the Spanish didn't help out and attend, I did see one though. None the less great day, thank you

Annie & I are delighted that the event was so well attended and even more so that it was enjoyed - Some lovely comments were made which gives us the confidence to push on with the raft race which we hope is going to be a larger event (see the new raft race post for further info')

The total amount raised was 246.76 € after costs which is a great sum We'd also like to thank those who donated money even though they couldn't be there to enjoy the day.

The winners of the hamper which were La's team have kindly said that they will give us the hamper itself back so that we can do a similar prize for the raft race with different goodies.

Thankyou all for your positive comments. It was a Great day and very well organised by Annie 'mrs shiny' and Matilda 'muskateera'. They should be very proud of themselves as I am of them!

I had a great day running around looking for tickets witha group of friends from Galera who didn't know one end of Benamaurel from the other! It was good fun running through the streets looking for jars. One was even in a Bin!

David and his wife Antonia were in attendance as was Ricardo his Wife and Daughter from El Capricho. Because they walk the Dogs on a Saturday morning they were only able to come to BBQ. They are overwhelmed at the response from you guys the supporters. Thankyou
