Reserve dog walkers required

Thanks to a poster we put out today at the car boot and a group email that was sent out, we have found 2 more dog walkers - which is such a relief and now the weather is improving and it is actually really nice to leave any worries at home and just chill out with the dogs it means the dogs can hopefully go for longer walks.

We always need more though and what we are always in need of is relief dog walkers. So if there is anybody out there that can't commit for whatever reason but would maybe help out if they are available and some of our regular cover can't do it for whatever reason. We would like to make up a list of reserves, there would be no pressure if we were to contact you and you can't cover that day but to have a few alternatives on this list would be so helpful .

Great idea! on a Weds Annie and I do the walking and could do with extra hands sometimes especially when one of us can't make it etc. To be able to spend more time with the dogs would be lovely. As they don't really get enough fuss. So the more hands the merrier!

I might be able to help occasionally - Depends where Capricho is and the weather as I am on a motorbike.

Hi Gobiker. Thanks for offering to help it is much appreciated. Would you like to have a "Try Me" day. You could come to the shelter get introduced to the dogs and help with dog walking, just pick a day convienient for you. I go on a Monday and Friday and after we go to the local bar for a beer or two and a chat, don't know what they do on the other days though. I will PM you with my email and phone number.

Well there ya go Gordon, Janaky offering a " try me " session I should get in quick all the guys this side of Malaga will be in line to walk the dogs Nice one Janaky sometimes you go above and beyond - hehehehehe

At El Capricho we still really need some more walkers and mucker outers etc on a reserve basis or more regular if you have the time!
It's very rewarding and you normally feel like you have had a good work out afterwards, beats going to the gym.
I've lost 3kgs on the El Capricho diet!

Unfortuantley the 2 we thought we had found, at least they volunteered , have pulled out one has gone back to the UK but may return soon and help out and the other realised with a new B and B to manage she just couldn't find the time .
Plus in a coule of weeks we loose a regular

If you are worried you may get to attached , that was my biggest fear and delayed me from volunteering, all I can say is I am actually finding it a lot easier than I thought . They are El Capricho dogs and although I would love to find them all good homes tomorrow. I know they are being well looked after and I feel fairly content to leave them there rather than bring them home with me. You don't know until you try it ,so please give it a go, we understand afterwards if it doesn't suit you but at least you tried

I must agree that i too thought it would be horrible to leave the dogs there after getting to know them, but it is lovely knowing that they are fed and walked daily and that they are safe there, and it is so rewarding to give a few hours of your time for all the love they give back

can't do regular but could cover from time to time but not wednesdays and thursdays as I am working.

Nice one John it would be useful from time to time. All it take is for a few names on a list that could be called when needed. It would make life easier for everyone concerned!

We really need some nice guys to help us out on the following dates. Some of our regulars are off on a well deserved holiday together .

3rd May Thursday / 8th May Tuesday and 10th May Thursday.

This is a good opportunity to try it for one day and meet the doggies, there will be other English, experienced volunteers there to show you the ropes - ummmm that maybe should read leads - Please we really need some help on these days .

The time of dog walking, on Tues and Thurs, has changed from 5pm to 6pm start. I do hope more will help "John the Artist", he's the only volunteer so far!!

PLEASE, if you have time to spare, come and see our lovely dogs and get fit whilst giving them some much needed attention!
