Old dog toys, collars, leads and some treats.
If anyone has any old toys that their dogs don't play with anymore or collars they've grown out of please, please, please donate them to us. All the volunteers use their own money to buy bits and bobs but times are tough for us all and the difference a toy makes is remarkable to a bored animal particularly the younger dogs or those who must be housed alone for whatever reason.
Also old rugs, or cushions for them to sleep on now that the weather's getting colder we are now thinking about their winter comfort in the huge warehouse, although many have been strays and lived on the streets they have now become acclimatised to shelter so will feel the cold a little more yet be unable to run around to warm up due to being in an enclosure.
So if you can spare anything at all to keep the dogs happy and healthy until they're re homed it would be greatly appreciated. Either bring them along to the Christmas fair, drop them in at Vista or the centre between 6 & 8pm every week day or 10 - 12pm weekends . Really, every little helps.
Many thanks.

Re: Old dog toys, collars, leads and some treats.
I hope you don't mind me hijacking your post slightly Musketeera but can I add towels to your list, it doesn't matter what condition they are in as long as they have some absorbency left . It is getting back to the time of year that we can not walk the dogs if it is pouring down, which is so sad as they live for their walks. So if it's only a drizzle we can take them as long as they have a good rub down after, leaving them wet in a cold warehouse afterwards would not be a good thing.
Thank you sorry for the interruption

Good call, yes your absolutely right. While I'm still on the 'cadge' if anyone has a pair of bolt croppers spare (a long shot I know) they would come in really handy for repairing the enclosures. Also long metal or plastic ties.
Re: Old dog toys, collars, leads and some treats.
Im clearing out my workshop at the moment. I think ive still got some heavy duty cable ties. Ill check today for you. Ill have a think if there's anything else that may be of use to you.

Hollandia has made a couple heavy duty leads and they're fantastic - Well done knappe dame!
Please don't forget if you have anything that you no longer need for your dog we would be so grateful for the donation.
Huge thanks.
