I am a retired ironmonger and now spend my time on the internet where I
build websites and do search engine optimization. My current project is a
directory of businesses in andalucia that are aimed at the english speaking

Its not a problem normally if people 'behave', but it gets flagged when two people are useing the same ISP. Strangely, its normally when somebody is telling us about services they can offer, and then they get 'bigged up' by another member from the same ISP as has happened recently.
Anyway, welcome to Ironmonger and we look forward to hearing more from them.

Unless you actually ask (and pay) for a fixed IP address most ISPs will assign one when you logon. If you are using a router and leave it switched on then you'll have the same IP as long as the router is connected. It is normally the router that has the IP address not the computer so if you are sharing a router it can seem like you have more than one computer on the same IP. If you have a single user modem, either dial-up, ADSL or wireless then you will be assigned the next available IP address from the range assigned to the ISP when you connect so it is possible for two people not sharing a router to have the same IP but not at the same time.

Spicey you look for sour grapes everywhere! I thought your expertise was in spices rather than fruit? If I had a business I would grab the chance for free advertising. No such thing as bad publicity etc
Get yourself on the new business index (free?) and get Dave to consider whether he is happy for you to put your business name on your postings. Simples. Could even have a bunch of grapes as a logo.

My point was it seems some people here resent anyone getting a free plug in for their business. I looked at David's site but the English shopping site on it woud not open to show any products, then siesta time overtook me, it's an age thing. Cheers Spicey

Sorry but who is ''you two''. I wasn't patronising or trying to patronise anyone, neither were my comments gender specific I could just as easily made it to a male. To my mind it was light hearted banter which does need a sense of humour to understand.
