Septic Tank - Products

We will be using a septic tank for the first time soon and would appreciate any tips on what products to buy and where from ie. washing powder etc.

If it is a new multi chambered septic tank, with fresh water coming out the other end, then there is nothing you can't use really.  Just not too much bleach or antibac stuff, as you want the tanks bacteria to work!

You can buy capsules at the Ferreteria (sorry I don't know where you are!!!?) in Galera.   These help to keep the bacteria in the tank at the right levels.  Just follow the instructions on the box, for flushing them down your loo.

I had a septic tank at my last cave for over 9 years and have another here at my new cave.

You will need to have it emptied every now and again, depending on use.  Some can go 10 years or so without having to be emptied/cleaned.  It just depends on how you use it.
