This is what 300,000 quid will get you in Dorset (from today's Guardian):

What a lovely Beach hut!
Annie and I are both from Dorset and it is a lovely area with lovely scenery but when you can camp for 6 quid a night why would you spend 300k on a shed!!??
We regularly used to camp on the Dorset coast path to escape the daily grind!

An answer to your question Jenny! Funnily enough I did used to camp just off of the coastpath not always on a site it depended where I had managed to walk to in a day! With a good mate we used to catch a train from Bournemouth to Weymouth and walk back via the coastpath. We had a back pack with a few goodies and used to sleep in bivvy bags! So we would literally sleep just off of the path and wake up to the most amazing views! It would take two long days to walk back to Bournemouth! I was young, fit and crazy then!! bounce

On Mersey Island on the East coast, lived in it for a few months,no loo,gas light,no heating and a smelly dog. Oh and I had a broken leg at the time, plaster kept getting damp and falling off. Needless to say it was not the high point of my life, but despite it all I really enjoyed it. Getting up each morning and pushing open the doors to see the sea directly in front of me.

From our neck' o t'woods
would have sounded more like:

Na den me 'owd luv (S.Yorks ? Doncaster way) Hello good friend.

or

Aye up Duck! (Derbyshire) Hello good friend.

or (Sally) we used to call folks from Lincolnshire ... Pea Pickers!

I guess that's an improvement on a Darb ( A person from Derbyshire).

Derbyshire born, Derbyshire bred, Strong int' arm, Weak int' ed!!

Well, a "pea picker" is better than what we call Yorkshire folks - "twatters" - because they go to the coast to watch ships on t'water! OR "comforts" because when they come to the seaside they "come fort' day"! x
