UPS: Credit where it's due
This morning at 09:31 a van rolled up to my house.
Out stepped a UPS man: brown trousers, brown shirt, moustache, dark glasses. He was carrying (as couriers do ) a package for me. Duly signed for, he got back in the van and drove off.
This is remarkable as it's the first time ever, that any courier has delivered anything to me in Spain. Normally I get a call "where's Cuevas del Negro?" "Oh that's too far" "You'll have to meet me at ... " On one occasion my package languished at the courier's office for a week before being sent back: no phone calls, the post-card the website claimed they sent never turned up and they then charged the sender €100 to get their own property back (it was only worth €85).
So, good work - long may it continue!

we have the same problem with couriers. Very rarely do they make it to our door and we've also had stuff returned to sender at the senders expense.
Maybe some one could set up a local distribution network....

With Amazon (and, I beleive: UPS) they both deliver to the video shop in Baza.Fred Flintstone wrote:we have the same problem with couriers. Very rarely do they make it to our door and we've also had stuff returned to sender at the senders expense.

Look up puntos de recogida on Amazon.es for details.
It's revolutionised my Amazon purchasing in Spain and now they are top of my list for online buying, followed by outfits that only deliver to the correos.
So much better than chasing courier vans across the campo.

In Castillejar we tend to use either the petrol garage or Emilio's Restaurant in Los Carriones.
