What event / events would you be likely to support
Activities for you all.......
Ive been asked to create a poll with some ideas for these exciting activities and to help raise funds for El Capricho. It would be great if you could click the buttons of any that you would be seriously interested in supporting.
Im sure some of the great forum ladies will also give more details. So come on, lets get out and about and put this winter weather behind us.
In addition if you have any more ideas about activities let us know.
Thank you!
Sponsored walk (with dogs or without).
Raft building - Raft must arrive at Negratin in pieces and be put together on site. Once launched it must stay afloat for the time it takes to get around the markers on the lake - Hoping support will be offered by Kayak Aventura (haven't asked yet). Followed by picnic lunch provided.
Scavenger hunt with a BBQ afterwards.
Baking & craft/art competition.
Paint balling in Castril.
Quiz afternoon with an auction.

Quiz & auction.
This may turn into two events depending on the interest shown.
We have received some beautiful things to raffle and have decided an auction would be better. We could also include 'lots' to sell on your behalf at the auction.
Household goods, furniture, china, bric a brac etc.
No livestock.
A buyers and sellers premium of 10% will be charged -
Example > If Fred sold a book for 1 € and Barney bought it for 1 € they would each pay 10 cents to El Capricho.
All donations and goods must be delivered to the venue the day before the auction. Viewing will start at 10am and the sale at midday.
In order to bid you must register at the door where you'll receive a number which the auctioneer will take if you suceed in a bid.
Cash must be paid before items are removed from the venue.
So if you would like to generate a bit of cash while helping El Capricho please call me on 958065191 or contact Annie (Leadlady).

Scavenger hunt & BBQ.
I have applied for the permission from the town hall this morning for this event to be on April 13th starting at 11am in Benamaurel - Waiting for a response now.
If they do allow it here's how it will work.
There's a recreation ground on the left just past the petrol station (coming from Baza) that will be the base. On the opposite side of the main road there's a track which we will turn into a one way system will be the starting point.
To queue for the scavenger hunt you must follow the signs to the track and park your cars, you will then be registered by your team name (any number in a team as long as your vehicle is permitted to take that amount of passengers as I expect the Guardia will be present). There will be a charge of 2 € per person.
Teams will be released at 3 minute intervals and as each car approaches the front they will be given their sheet of clues which will be photographs of places around the village and on the back of the sheet will be a map to assist with some of the more obscure photo's.
Outside or possibly inside the buildings will be a jar of coloured strips of paper, take one per car and go to the next clue.
The team that collects the most colours will be the winner - There will be a time limit.
Afterwards there will be a BBQ where you can purchase lunch or bring your own food and drink.
Once again let us know beforehand if you would like to join us so that we can allow for catering and traffic control.
A hamper of food & drink will go to the winner and there will be prizes for 2nd and 3rd places.

Re: Activities for you all.......
We really hope that we can get these events off the ground because not only are they fund raisers but also as an excuse to do something different and have a giggle on the way.
Also if you can spare time to help with the events it would be very welcome.

Re: Activities for you all.......
Veiwed 170+ times but only a handfull of people have bothered to vote. A few people have gone to a lot of effort to plan these activities. Thats very sad. please make the effort

Well in real terms only 3 others have voted because two of the votes were from Leadlady & I
Without support these events will not go ahead which is such a pity, it's not just about fund raising but having some fun and getting to know people that may not get to the music nights or monthly quiz.
Scientists announced today that they have discovered a cure for apathy. However, they claim no one has shown the slightest interest in it. Quoted by George Carlin.
Re: Activities for you all.......
The other vote would have been me then . I am up for them all, although I only voted on my preferences , it looks like the scavenger hunt maybe a problem with the date but the other ones I will be doing all I can to support . Such a lot of work gone into it ladies and some brill ideas .

Re: Activities for you all.......
One must live in hope that lots of people have been too busy to vote as yet but they will over the next couple of days or suggest things that they would like to do - A big thanks to those who have though we don't feel quite so demoralised as we did last night.

I've voted!
After a long and very gloomy winter, it'll be really good to have some fun and take part in all the coming fund raising events for El Capricho. I've cast my votes! Do have a look at what's taking place, cast your votes and join us for some "Spring" action!!
