Insurance
Hi all - just a query
We've got a mortgage with Caja Rural, aswell as our Life and House Insurance
We've found cheaper house and life insurance now, but were told by Caja Rural last week that we can't cancel the current ones, and having life and house insurance with Caja Rural was a condition of our mortgage... We've no paperwork signed to this effect..
has anyone else ever heard of this or do you think they're trying it on?
thanks
Dunc

Re: Insurance
if it's anything like the mortgage I have on my UK home with Halifax, they take out life cover on your behalf, but you pay for it!
I guess they don't much fancy the risk of you leaving them out of pocket if you take out alternative cover that doesn't cover the outstanding loan, or die after failing to make payments.
I don't think the arrangement is mentioned in the Mortgage paperwork, but the conditions are mentioned in the Life Insurance policy.

Re: Insurance
Do you want a good insurance or an insurance company that is not there if it should come paying out when you have trouble. We had a problem (A fire) and our insurance company was there the next afternoon taking pictures and paid out before we could finalize all the quotations, people who had been following my postings on the forum were asking for their name and details they were a Swiss company.
Have a look at.

Please check, if you are living in a cave and have buildings insurance, that you are covered. MOST, don't!!! Or if they do. limit it to €10K or so. Don't trust them unless it is in writing.
