hi folks someone told me that the nie number has changed from a sheet of paper to a plastic card,is this right or a lot of rubbish thanks folks

Not like the old plastic card, more like a piece of credit card paper in between two pieces of sticky plastic. But yes it has changed to this.

About 10 euros and it is the office down the archway to the right of the main entrance at the national police building.
Are you changing just to get this card because it will not be taken as any form of identification.

In Baza, National Police, up bank st turn right near top.

I wonder if it is quicker and cheaper to say you have lost the A4 sheet, and then get the card as a replacement?.

Its 15 euros if you have lost it, as I have just done, even though i still have a photo copy. You then have to go to some person in authority such as your bank or the notary who have to write a letter with official stamp stating why you are applying for another. I guess it would be the same if you just wanted to change to get the new card.

I have my NIE Number but don't have the certificate only the original application form. Just have the application form for my daughter but not even her number. They were done at the same time at the consulate in London so pretty sure hers was issued as well as mine.

Has anyone been through the process recently of getting a duplicate both with the number and without. Need to do my will and suspect that I'll need to show them for both of us at the Notary.

Will we need the whole form again and photos or do they just take it from the central computer system? She doesn't have a bank acount or anything, just 18, so not sure what evidence they will accept for her.
