When burning wood in a fireplace or stove is all about a good and complete combustion of the fuel available.
Clean and "thoroughly" dry wood or wood briquettes are a prerequisite. Wet wood generates much lower temperatures than dry wood, which has a combustion process results in which other elements than gases (often pollutants like soot and tar) from the chimney. This is due to incomplete combustion. Clean wood means no demolition wood with paint, wood with preservatives or impregnated wood. No heating other than wood in your stove, for which there is absolutely not intended. There is only one incinerator, which is the incinerator of the government. Air supply and flue should be optimal.

Good fuel

Wood for your fireplace or stove should be at least two years, preferably cleaved in a dry and windy place are located. The moisture content then drops to below 20%. Also parra fine sawdust-briquettes are an excellent fuel. A good fire burning recognized by colorless or white smoke. Creating done preferably by making sticks.

Stoke not fog or low wind

With no wind or fog, it is difficult enough pull to get into your chimney. This is not only bad for combustion. The smoke and smoke remain in and around your house hang. That's bad for your health, bad for the health of your neighbors and bad for the environment.

Let fire go out quietly

I want to extinguish the fire ndien you as you fall asleep or anything else, let the fire go out by themselves. Leave a fireplace chimney damper fully open. Place a spark screen or close the fireplace or stove so that no sparks jumping away. Keep well ventilated.
