Wanted

Does anyone have one or preferably two kids car seats they want to sell, rent or lend. My friend has her Grand Kids (3yrs & 18months) coming over in a couple of weeks for a month and they need 2 car seats for them.
Or does any one know where they can buy them cheaply around here?

Ann we faced the same problem a while back, there is nowhere round here to get a cheep new car seat, the prices are extorinate.

What we did was, when the kids where comming out, we bought one from Argos and got it delivered to the Kids UK address then the kids brought it with them.

You are allowed Car seats, travel cots and buggies free of charge with all the Low Cost airlines flying to Spain so this method works well.

Unfortunately our lot will be out shortly or you could have borrowed ours, but look into the method above worked well for us

I am happy to confirm that pushchairs, prams, car seats and travel cots do not form part of your baggage allowance and therefore are carried for free, provided that the infant/child is travelling as well. However, we do not offer a separate baggage allowance for infants.

Pushchairs, buggies, car seats and travel cots can be taken right up to the aircraft, where they will be taken by cabin crew and stored in the hold. However, if it would be easier for you, you can check it in with your baggage at check-in. Full sized, non-collapsible prams cannot be accepted for travel.

At some of our airports you may have to pick up your pushchair from baggage reclaim so please ask the Cabin Crew about your pushchair on arrival at your destination. They will be able to advise you on what happens at this airport.

Ann - I've got a car seat, which I've used for both an 18-month-old and a 3-year-old. It's tatty (clean, but frayed round the edges - it had been used by a family of 4 children before I inherited it), but you're welcome to borrow it. Phone me on 958065090 if you're interested.
