Residencia - Baza
Has anyone been for their residencia recently in Baza?. I already have my NIE Number and Padron. If you have, can you tell me what documents etc. you had to take. I know it has all changed very recently and would like to hear from someone who has done it in the last few weeks.
Thanks
Gordon
Thanks
Gordon

Very conveniently, there is a photograph shop opposite the police station for your photos.

Why do you need photos when the new residencicia is just an a4 piece of paper?

Residencia etc.
I don't mind, The Spanish want you to do everything right, Spanish Driving Licence, Residencia etc. But they certainly don't make it easy going. I have had so many different suggestions on how to do things and on what documents you do and do not need, it's a minefield out there. Good job we got the Forum to keep us abreast of everything. Hopefully I should have everything right by 2011 (Only been here 8 years see). Good job the sun is out.

Re: Residencia - Baza
I didn't think you needed to renew your residencia, if you do need to, when and how often do you need to?

There was an expiry date on my card, it had lasted 5 years. I much preferred the card to the A4 piece of paper which I have now. x

I agree with you Sally but newer days why should human beings make life ease and good for each other, surly it is more important to make money than all of us to have a good and happy life. Peter X

Re: Residencia - Baza
Well I am going tomorrow and I will take photos (My friend said he had to produce a FULL copy of his birth certificate!!) but wether his were special circumstances as he was registering his Son too I don't know. I will of course take every document I possess, just in case. Watch this space.
Residencia application (EU Citizens) - Full up to date instructions
I have been and got my residentia so here is the full SP.
Fill in the form on line using the link below
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
You then print off two copies (you can't save the completed forms but you can print off the completed form.)
Click the link below for a video on how to fill the form if you need help

Take 2 copies of your passport (1 copy of the first page and 1 copy of the photograph page)
1 copy of your Padron
1 Copy of your NIE Number
1 Passport photo
Take the copies. photo, and the originals to the Extrajaneros Office, in Baza it is to the right of the policia national office, Plaza Major. I got there at 08:50 and was 1st in , a small queue built up by 09:30 only about 4 people though. Present all the documents to the VERY helpful man. He then does a lot of typing and then gives you a form to take to the Bank (any) there are a few round about. You then pay 10.00 euros and return with the form. Go straight back to the Man (Ignore the queue or anyone sat in there!) he then gives you your green residencia and copy of the payment certificate.
Viola!
There is a photographers opposite the Police station and they also do photocopies. They were open at 08:30.
You need VERY little Spanish (if any) only needing it to be polite really.
If you need any help PM me and I'll do my best.

Re: Residencia - Baza
Thanks Gordon for your clear instructions.
Question: Has anyone tried anywhere else than Baza?
The reason I ask is that he wants to take my old tarjeta and destroy it but I have friends in Jerez and Costa del Sol who have been allowed to keep their cards with just the corner cut off.
Hint on Baza: You probably don't need to go early, there was no-one there when we went at noon - not even the staff person. I think that he/she just pops out every so often to see if there is anyone there; you can sit outside and wait.
Our visit was unsuccessful because the computer system broke down.
