In the pursuit of balance, it must be said that the key word that is missing from the report is that the tax details would be ANONYMOUS.

So if the plan does go ahead (it won't: with or without a petition) there will be no information saying, for example: Mr Smith of 22 Acacia Avenue, Surrey earned X amount and paid Y tax.
However, this is merely a silly-season story that appeared over Easter, when parliament is on it's school holidays - and there wasn't any other political news to fill the media void. There won't be any names. There won't be any identifying information. There won't be any individual records. This plan won't go through because it doesn't exist. There won't be your tax details available for people to snoop. Your information won't appear on any websites. It's one big storm in a very small teacup. The whole issue can be safely ignored.
BTW. Just a reminder about the forum rules:

Unless HMRC make a cock up (let me remind you that they dont have a very good track record of late)
Also Pete, thanks for reminding me of the forum rules (its a pity not everyone takes note ), but to be fair I think the only cat that this could be near is 'politics', and it wouldn't be very near really. You dont work for HMRC do you? If you do, you owe me!..........

It's worth noting that 38 degrees is a highly politicised left-wing organisation run by people with an agenda that isn't always as straight-forward as it should be, so check it out before you do anything.
I now have nothing to do with them. For example, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
