Gloves and Cave Diving

Post by CristinnaP on Sat Mar 22, 2014 5:15 am

Hey All,
I apologize, in advance for posting this question here, but couldn't find the right section to do it.
I am trying to gather some information on others experiences with Cave Diving and gloves. I am looking at doing some dives this summer on Vancouver Island and the water is not quite as nice as Florida or Mexico.
Usually, I am a bit clumsy, and this without wearing gloves. Embarassed

Specifically interested in hardware setup to account for the reduced dexterity.

Thanks.

I'd give mittens a go, they'll really help with the dexterity, especially if you put the Left mitten on the right hand and the Right mitten on the left hand. You could then go for the 'complete look' by putting Wellington boots onto the wrong feet. What ever you do though do NOT use a parachute underwater if there's likely to be any currents, it can be a real drag. Maybe a kilo or 2 of Manchego will help?
