Roo meat is lovely, along with Springbok, Aligator & Ostrich. I hope they get some of them down there.
Anyone buying the Roo steaks but not had them before, you should treat like a 'game dish' and have it rare'ish.

OK, so I gave this a try.
The meat comes in a sealed polythene bag. Mine contained several small "medallions". I used 2: just less than half the pack, as a single portion.

As recommended I cooked it medium-rare. The meat is very dark in colour (nothing like what's shown on the packaging) and very low in fat so it tends to stick to the pan. I seared it first and gave it 3 minutes per side. Though that turned out to be a little too rare for my liking, so I popped it back for another minute or so.

Taste-wise, it's like venison. Very gamey and with a good flavour. I think I'll be stir-frying the rest of it.

We went into Lidl today, jumped (ha ha!) past the kangaroo steaks as we've had them before, but we came out with a piece of "real" blue stilton and quite a few other goodies, they've got a nice selection of different things in there at the mo.
