I had a great lunch there yesterday! (Courtesy of the pensionistas group - there's some advantages to having an older partner!) Jamon, cheese, calamares, salad, then seafood soup, lamb chops and potatoes, and for dessert sorbet, flan and fresh fruit then coffee with brandy, plus unlimited white and red wine and beer (I had a bit of each!). I 've had their English breakfasts a couple of times -once was good, second time a bit mixed - egg griddled not fried, toast griddled not toasted, cold plates - but I'd know another time to ask. Having said that, I much prefer Spanish food!

Hi Miron
Sounds like you might not have eaten since ? Laughing
I better find myself an older woman then ..haha.....
but not quite being that age, and tend not to join OAP groups, now sounds like I might be missing out ?
But seriously, I have such a slow metabolism ....I seriously could not even eat that much....1 plate is enough for me . But the Spanish side of stuff sounds great ! not really a Brit abroad seeking egg and chips stuff, but nice to know for the occasional Brekkie or Fish and chips. so now I know where it is, and the Spanish is good, its a place to note
Many thanks, Andy

Hi amm1007, Bar Emilios is a Spanish bar situated in Los Carriones. They do Spanish food and also will cater for the Brits as well with Full english brekkies and Fish and chips etc. El Capricho is a Spanish Registered charity headed by 2 spanish guys and also has some Brits as Board members. It also relies heavily on help from other expats not just Brits for walking and cleaning out duties and generally arranging Fundraisers etc. This year a lot of dogs young and old have been adopted by Spanish families as well as Brits!
If you keep an eye on the forum there are often events advertised for El Capricho and British legion and music events solely for fun!!

Hi and thanks Shiny
sorry but guessing you are a girlie ?
Yep, had details about Emilios..sounds good
Didnt know about El Capricho though..is it a meeting place of some sort too..or just an ' organisation ' ?
I wont be living there full time
but great, will watch for events then.
Bed now...as up 6am , and coming from Malaga to Cullar ( Altiplano do ) and then back on the 19th for a few days when I will  actually own the cave....completion day, lol
and back again for maybe a week after to make sure the cave is fully furnished and fitted out
so will then have time to enjoy the fun.

Shiny is a fella Andy! His real name is Tony. El Caprichio is a charity run dog rescue centre in Baza. They have kennels. There are a lot of events held in local bars etc to raise funds. Eg karaoke, pub quizes, etc.
