Best TV for years
I dont watch a lot of TV, mainly because its rubbish, but theres a series running on Channel 4 at the moment with Guy Martin (coolest fellla on TV and a motorbike). Its called 'How Britain Worked'
Worth while watching on 4od or whatever.
Tell me what you think?

Mmm - he's OK in small doses I suppose (IMO) but not a patch on Fred Dibner.
There was, however, a great programme on BBC4 (my TV station of choice) last week about the American diner:

Having driven Route 66 in Arizona (needs to be done on a Harley or in a Winnebago) and eaten massive burgers and drunk copious amounts of coffee along the way in various roadside establishments, I could relate to the programme. It was full of very astute observations by Stephen Smith, about America and Americans in the 20th century and the ubiquitous diner.......loved it! Did anyone else see it?

We've watched the series Dave. Involved steam, pistons, water, metal and stuff that is generally noisy, so 'im indoors loved it.
I went along for the ride...
Enjoyed it once he stopped saying 'grafter' every other word!

I believe you have to have an element of madness to ever compete at the IOM TT. Guy Martin is a crazy bloke. I have to say his programs are interesting but I find him slightly irritating. A lot better when he's on the bike!!

Re: Best TV for years
No. Dare I ask what it was about Peter. Fat American kids eating burgers by any chance?
Re: Best TV for years
No Dave. Another programme that might be worth watching. Not a burger in sight. Engineering at it's extreme. Surprised me, as I found it very interesting.

Re: Best TV for years
No Dave, it was about heavy engineering around the world “awesome” but it might be to near the thought of work for some people.
Another program that interested us tonight was Goodnight Britain but we would like to agree very many programs are repeats or canned laughter etc. etc. defiantly not worth paying for. As I have already said we use a lot of other inputs.
