Hola
Hi All, I'm Jayne I came to live in my primo cueva in Los Carriones in 2000 and later moved into another in Baza, I loved life there but came back to England so that my son could attend uni (In Spanish) I'm now free to come back again, I don't recognise any names here, but then most are nicknames. I still have friends in Los Olivios and Huescar but wonder what it's like in Baza nowdays, when I left the Brits were rather taking over I see the property prices have dropped again, you all seem very established and happy, it's lovely to see. x

Re: Hola
Welcome back ( eventually )
Having lived in Baza for the past 2 years, personally I think it is the place the Brits have taken over the least. As far as I know there is only the one commercial premises operated by Brits and that is Vista, which I think is really useful for the whole of the region.
Most Brits I know are from further afield . Baza is about as Spanish as you will find anywhere.

Re: Hola
Oh Cool. That's good when I was there there was This'n'that British food shop, the little bar in Calle de Aqua, Dels Cafe in the side street opposite the baths off Calle de Aqua, Manchester Dave the builder in Caniles. Bubbles laundry service, Karen who had the bar just as you go into town to name a few, as well as a load of mortgage holders desperate for work that were in the process of having thier houses repossessed, and driving around in British cars without ITV. It got really bad, sounds like it's cleaned up now, Good News. I was one of the first English where I lived and the locals were fantastic really helpful, I loved it there. x
