Denuncia

Post by Twisted Fire Starter on Sun Jun 06, 2010 2:46 pm

I am preparing and considering filing a Denuncia against an English "builder" for building works paid for but not yet completed. However, I am getting a bit of conflicting information; does this need to be done at the Guardia or the National Police?
Any advice would be appreciated so I can progress this.

You goto your local Guardia station and complete the paperwork, you dont need a lawyer to do it with you, it is quite simple to do. Is the builder a legally registered builder? if he is it will make it easier for you.

Thank you Mikey, much appreciated. I'd prefer that the job was just finished to be honest, but it doesn't look like he has any intention of doing so. I'll hold off for another week before proceeding, you never know, and I do prefer to give people the benefit of the doubt; perhaps he's been ill, who knows.

I have done this twice, just go to the police station, I took a translator with me, and since then i have been interviewed at length and had a full statement taken by a judge, mind you i was ripped off for 42grand, also by an Englishman, but not a builder so not the same chap

I agree, a shotgun would have done, but the wife didnt fancy the prison visits, so we have pinned our hopes on the spanish legal system. Besides, there was a few people involved, I would have to have been a serial killer to get them all

It is not slander to tell the truth, however i will respect your wishes, surfice to say that a local agent and his friends, conspired to sell me and my family a piece of land and then build a cave house etc, part way through, and after parting with 42 grand and another 20 grand spent on stuff we needed for are project, we not only found out that the development was illegal but that the land was never their`s to sell, so 60 odd grand down and in the s***

I feel for you, I really do. Not really much else that can be said, well, not here anyway. Keep your chin up, they'll get theirs one day.

I've recently been privy to some "workmanship" carried out by the English "builders" recommended to a friend by a local agent. Saying nothing more than this husband and wife team should be ashamed of themselves.

"Keeping your chin up" is not enough of a consolation. Even in the UK 40.000 GBP is not to be sneezed at - especially with the present pathetic interest rates.

Untrustworthy people should be named on this forum! If not, it is of no help to other readers! They do not deserve any measure of protection or faith in thier "good name".

Done to death Sleep ........The answer is No.
How do you think that would effect Mababouts legal case if it was said that he had mentioned names on an internet forum. Question
If you really want to go on a private crusade publicising people that you believe to be untrustworthy, go and stick some posters up in your local shops. See what they say. You may find a Denuncia heading your way.

'it is of no help to other readers' I think that there are plenty of regular members who would disagree with that.

On the one hand i would love to tell everybody who the culprits are, but it is to risky, and it may set a trend that could get out of hand. you could end up with people slagging off left right and centre for trivial things. I promise that at the appropriate time I will let you know how the situation develops but names will have to wait until the courts have dealt with them. Devon Dave is correct about the effect it could have on my case, I have already found out how touchy the court officials can be, I have had a right bollocking for not answering a letter that I never got confused

Well Dave - might be done to death but whoever is fleeced of 40000 whatevers, just might feel that they might like to "do to death" the culprits. What a Face

I am aware of the legal difficulties of exposing earthworms. Come to think of it I will not degrade earthworms. No They are extremely useful - areate the soil.

But I do recall it was Denis Healy, many years ago - when discussing it being "unparliamentary language" to call someone a liar, had the intelligence and good humour to be able to do so, without the targeted party having a hope in hell of reprise. The people I fell foul of are very experienced in what they did, the case is complicated and in a very delicate stage, I have employed one of the most respected law firms in Spain to work with the court in Huescar, in just a few days progress has been made and I have learned that the authorities are taking this very seriously and have made it clear to the crooks that this is big trouble, unfortunatly one of them has done a runner, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest

Thanks, just to add that the comment about not trusting your agent is very true. I may have a biased view but, if these people knew what they were doing why are they selling holes in the ground in huescar instead of serious properties in the UK. It turns out that our agent used to be a car salesman in the UK confused So lets see, I`m a joiner by trade so now I`m here I think I will set up as a car mechanic, anybody want to trust their car to me affraid
