We were talking to a guy on the car boot, who we knew was a keen fisherman. He was saying it is really difficult now. You have to take an exam, I believe he said it was a 2 day thing . For any other info I suggest you ask him, it is the guy that sells pasties and his wife sells jewellery, they are not there every week though.

Think Ian Sharp has posted about this before. From what I remember it is easier to apply for an english licence, which I believe can be done online, then exchange for spanish one avoiding need to take exams in spanish.
Perhaps Ian will clarify.

My Dad has got the licence but I can't remember what he did to get it. I know it involved going to see someone at Lake Bolera fishing tackle shop. (but this was a long while back)

Infact he just came 10th in a Spanish fishing contest last month! and won a fly fishing rod!

(nicknamed 'The Fishing Machine' by the Spanish!!! Laughing )

Talking to the guy I am pretty sure he said that used to be the best way but is no longer allowed . All I know for sure is it all seems pretty daft to me to be so difficult.

John or anyone else interested if you go to http://beachcombermojacar.com/
and click on the link on the right labelled Licence Information under Mojacar Angling there is all the info about fishing licences there.
Beachcomber John is a great chap so give him a ring if you need any further info etc.
