Re: Poochie II
Sorry not to have sent a response earlier but for some reason most of the topics were showing up as that I had read them. Finally seems to have sorted out.
I do have feeding bottles if you need them but if you think he is over 5 weeks old you might not need them.
Puppy milk can be purchased from the Jabalcon vet in Baza, just down from Calle Agua, but it is not cheap. It comes with bottles and teats. Our little lad ended up getting through around 5 tubs of the stuff. He is now a healthy 15 months old, weighs in at 16.8kgs and is a bit bigger than the cocker spaniel he resembles.
TFS is correct about the goat's / cow's milk issue.
Hope all goes well for you. Must go off line now as we have 8 kittens and one is being hand reared so screaming its head off for food - think we must have several screws loose to keep taking them on.

Re: Poochie II
Here's a turn up for those who think all the Spanish are the same with Dogs, My Neighbour has just brought round a dozen tins if posh puppy food, free. Poochie II has certainly brought out the best in people So a big Thankyou to him. It's quite remarkable how many people are pulling together to see to the welfare of this tiny little dog.
He is thriving, getting character of his own. He loves rides on my foot, he won't be able to do that for long.
So he's had his first 'meat' meal. I just gave him a teaspoonful and a side order of his puppy milk. Greedy little monkey still squealing for more. He'll get used to the fact there is no competition and not go berserk every meal time.

Re: Poochie II
He is thriving well now. Doesn't like the meat much so back to his milk and bread/rice/porridge. I'll give it another few days then try again.
Re: Poochie II
My first ever video on You Tube Poochie II slurping his milk. I'll do better next time.

Re: Poochie II
Gosh what a difference from the original pics of a vunable little dot - he is now such a strong lad. Give yourself a pat on the back, you are doing a grand job
Re: Poochie II
He's so cute when he is drinking his milk & bread. He still doesn't like meat so it's rice, porridge or bread with his baby dog formula.

Re: Poochie II
Awww bless him at least he loves his grub in general - try adding a bit of chicken or tinned sardines to his normal mix, just a little at a time and maybe just once a day. save the dog meat until he appreciates the smelly stuff
Re: Poochie II
Here he is 'playing' with Barkley. Barkley is the name of the soft toy dog I bought many years ago in Toys are us for another puppy I adopted. Very Expensive too as I recall.

Re: Poochie II
Well he is now eating anything and everything, I have to curb him or he will be a fatso!. He can sleep outside on the Patio now he is big enough. He has the choice of a kennel or his box and the patio is fully enclosed. He can come in during the times I am in and awake or in adverse weather, As I only sleep three or four hours he will be in most of the time anyway. So I can start to toilet train him properly. Otherwise he is just doing it all over the house and now he is on solids it's pretty gross. Tonight will be the first time I will sleep in my bed since I got him.

Re: Poochie II
He is back on the milk and bread/rice/porridge. Which he prefers and he got a bit runny on the meat including the poached chicken breast. He must still be too young for meat?
Re: Poochie II
He looks really good (and he's nosey - that's a good sign)...you're such a star for taking him in and giving him a home....it makes my eyes puddle !!!

Definately growing up now
So playful, what a lovely dog. Got grey eyebrows now. He's a little scamp, into everything as a puppy usually is. Goes wee wee on paper now but the other is still on the patio, won't use the sand box so trying with the paper. At least he does it out of the way and always in the same area. Only tiny jobbies so easy to clean.
Trying to sweep the patio.

Re: Poochie II
He is turning into a real little treasure, he's getting big floppy ears and a pair of grey 'spectacles'. He's a bundle of fun and spends his awake time clamped to my trousers bottoms. He's 60% house trained, all his wees on paper and half his poos on paper or on the patio near the paper and sand box. Took him for his first Walkies down the village, He was a bit scared, all the noise, cars etc. but he was Ok in the end. So manageable on his collar and lead. I wormed him yesterday, so he goes for his first Injections and his passport on thursday. This is with the Kind help of Jan and El Capricho. Without whose and others help he would not be alive today.
