Post by nigtrog on Thu May 24, 2012 10:17 pm

good evenning all
again i seek help of the cave forum ! , been very helpful many times in past & try my best to help in return when can !!
My Cave insurance coming up for renewal !! , current insurance arranged via a broker in Mojcar no go / company pulled out of spain ! ( pain in arse as cover was good & included earthquake / full water damage / ok unoccupied as long as checked every 30 days !) . Alternative they come up with bit ify on water damage cover + need someone to sleep in cave every 30 days under unoccupied clause !! ( not just checked !) = i'd love to come out every 30 days but my business go bust / wife be > jealous & kids forget who i was ! .
Has anyone got a policy / broker can recommend who i can sort with over the phone or e mail ? and definite cave home cover ( stated in policy !) including full flood / rain / snow etc cover + quake + unoccupied as long as tregular checks etc ?
Any idea on premiums ?
I useto pay about 200 euros fo r100k buildings / 15k contents 2 or 3 years ago , then went up to 300 + last couple years !!

big thanks

Just out of interest did you ever have to make a claim on the structure of your cave from the insurance company?

Good morning all

1st all claimed for both struture and water damage to my cave in Friela via Santa Lucia ! ( damage was caused due to Ayuntmento decided to build a wall up wind of my cave! = acts as a dam diverting rain water down in to my and others caves !! , in end will collpase !!) , despite 100% due to 3rd party ( Ayuntemento ) building wall & nothing to do with existing cave structure ( cave was 100% ok for 4 years before built wall !) = they said due to existing structure & not pay out for 3rd party damage or water damage cover ( although both clearly covered in policy !!) . Also ignore letters / know nothing can really do without risking > costly legal battle with massive insurance co that cost euro 10k's if lose !! . Insuranec worthless in thsi instance and left to try and battle Ayuntemento self before cave collpases ! ( they proving even worse than insurance co !)

Insurance i on about below was for my cave i renovated in Benamaurel !! , old insurer was a lloyds london insurer and cave clearly listed / no 30 day unoccupied rule / full quake cover and looked on surface like good water damage cover ( but unil claim never know !)

Need an insurer that def covers caves and water / quake damage but not got the need top sleep in every 30 day rule !!

Any suggestions / policies people use & who arranged through be > appreciated !!

regards & have a vg day

Good evening
Did you mean Ponderosa ? , maybe she also got a pc for sale with a spell checker while we at it !
Anyway let us not get petty .
I must admit did use rather a lot of ) , >, = etc but combination of had very limited time ( you now know why after i pm'd you !) to reply to both very important insurance & lawyer topics along with day to day useto communicating in texts for business and social .
Easiest thing in my circumstances would of been to say / do nothing ! , but thought what i had to say along with facts put forward may help many fellow cave forum members avoid > costly mistakes !
May of sacrificed bit of grammar for getting message out , but thought main thing was to get messages out !

Anyway if you got anything can put forward to myself / forum in relation to vg lawyers or insurance companies along with sorting out massive problem with Friela mayor that now gone on for 18 months + and cost a fortune despite help of local people , lawyers , useless insurance companies etc please do pm me or share with forum !

take care

noted the smile face & appreciate optomistic oulook , thanks
Just the petty going on about using > , ) that couldn't get head round & added no value to a crucial topic . Actualy having cave insurance and lawyer who any good a very very important topic and one that has / will cost many forum members a hell of a lot of money and grief if get wrong !

Fact is Spain in massive recession , insurance co's / town halls broke & many local people who in theory should be able to help forum members ( lawyers , town hall surveyors , local contacts etc ) far from professional !! , on insurance / lawyers i was hoping for some positive help / advice from the forum community re; insurance co's can recommend who definitely insure caves that not occupied all the time , vg lawyers with proven track record succeeding with cases or denouncing councils etc
I have had several pm's & would appreciate anymore advice / help !
If i think can help save someone some grief or with a bit of advice i will continue to put foward on forum or pm ! , please if anyone got anymore lawyer / insurance etc recommendations either post on forum or pm me !

good evening to all and tomorrow always another day ! Very Happy

Sorry, I do not have a computer for sale and as you will know that the one I have is nearly as Dyslexic as I am even with Microsoft words and spell check. “Nigtrog” the posting you did made it even more difficult for me to understand.
