Post by Blatantadvertising.com on Mon Sep 19, 2011 3:34 pm

Stopped by Guardia today and everything ok except they advised us to change the address on our NIE form.
Has anyone done this and if so can they offer any advice,
Thanks in anticipation.

Barry,

Go to the extranjero office beside the police station in Baza and ask for a cambio de domicilio form, bring an up to date copy of your padron, along with old NIE and passport. Fill in form there and then, he should also be able to issue the new document there and then, but only if he remembers how to do it as its a rare type of transaction !! Can't remember how much it costs but its not much and as normal you'll have to take the slip to a bank to pay before going back with receipt to get your new form.

Simples !!

Quick update.

Got updated padron, simple.

Went to Baza but just to remind people go through the arch of the building and use the white door on the left. (Dept for extrajeneros).
The lady who dealt with us explained that if we changed the address of our nie then in six months it would be of no use as anyone who wanted to see it would need an up to date copy. She advised us to coplete forms for Residencia that do not run out of date as long as the info on them is correct.
We did this, 2 x 10.20 euros and all complete in 10 mins including paying at bank.
Many thanks Boothy.
