New here

About the only time I can call myself new but driven gently and one careful owner (several others not so careful)

Hi BigCol, thanks for the welcome Smile

I'm living in a cave in Zujar and have been for over 3 years. My only regret is that I didn't make the move years ago.

I don't miss a thing from what used to be the UK. Every day is an adventure and five dogs make sure that I don't get time to get bored.

Maybe November but I've been sitting in the garden shirtless all day, reading and soaking up some rays.

I've only experienced 3 winters here. The first one was so mild that I was able to sunbathe on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Second winter was cold but short.

The last winter which was disastrous for many cave dwellers in the area. Very few got away without any leaks at all. My computer room was flooded and unusable for 3 months.

It wouldn't be so bad if the dogs only wanted to go out when they felt a call of nature but they all hurtle outside at a breath of wind and tramp an inch of mud back in with them ten seconds later.
Then they repeat the performance in another 5 minutes ...

I'm hoping that my first experience was the typical one...

Mmm, I'm with you on the mud Englishman - it was funny to begin with - my german shephard was coming in four inches taller wearing mud platforms and toe spacers. But it's very quickly not so funny...especially as the dogs (and cats) have to flick the mud off with each step and it travels a couple of foot up the walls and sticks there.

Anyway, welcome to the forum.

Welcome, Very Happy . the talk of mud did make me giggle.

Yep the mud is totally....... well; words can't describe it but like mud I've never come across and sets like cement. But wet you could sink in it up to your neck, (smile) sorry slight exaggeration, up to your knees and before it gets soggy you could actually skate on it. Weird and wonderful like everything out here. Here's to a sunny/ dry winter.....
