Hello, I'm new to the forum
Hello, I'm a wannabe trog at the moment. Partner and I stayed in a cave house in Spain a couple of years ago, now we are looking for one of our own.

Welcome to the forum. Are you based in the Uk at the moment? What area did you stay in and where are you considering?

Welcome to the forum Rock Chick (love the name!!) I'm sure, that like most of us on here, you will find this forum invaluable for information about caves, cave living and the area.........along with lots of nonsense and rubbish about everything and nothing

Re: Hello, I'm new to the forum
Hello again! We are based in north Somerset.
We stayed in a really nice cave in Freila (and then a rather damp one in the Realejo in Granada - rather not think about that one, we were booked for a week and lasted two days ).
We came out in 2009 to have a look at Guadix but decided the town was too big, whereas we found Freila too small. I think we need to look around the Baza/Altiplano area to get a good idea of places before we settle for something.

Hi Rock Chick, love the name and the avatar. There are plenty of areas around Baza with good caves, but be warned you'll fall in love with the area when you get to know it properly.

Welcome and for sure if you want a bigger town but not too big, Baza hits the mark and around Baza there are some lovely caves, especially near the cave hotel.

Hello Rock Chick
Hi there, I'm fairly new to the forum myself but bought a cave house near Baza in April. During the hot Summer months the cave was lovely and cool and now it's very cosy and warm even when it's chilly outside. Caves are the ideal accommodation.
Happy hunting

Hola, I'm new to the forum, I wish I had known it was here when I lived there. I was one of the first English to live in the area in 2001. I lived in Los Carriones for 3 years, opposite Emilios, who was a fantastic help to me, then moved to Jamula (Just to the left of Baza) where I had a riding school. There's not a month goes by I don't miss the place and my great friends in Los Olivios, Pente Arriba, Castillar and Huescar. I regrettably left for the love of a man, Mug! ha ha But to be honest at the time Baza was being ruined by too many English slobs, but from what I hear seems most have gone. I have loved reading all about your going's on and also meeting new people on sagazone. Hasta Luego Jayne x

Re: Hello, I'm new to the forum
Hello again folks, I am coming over in January for a visit and hopefully to see some caves. At the moment I just have to content myself with looking online at pictures of other people's caves ... I know I definitely want one that's more cave-y than house-y...
